Senior Backend Software Engineer for AI Platform Systems (Python | PART-TIME)
What you will be doing
● Design, implement, and maintain backend services, APIs, and document-processing pipelines.
● Build concurrent and asynchronous workflows for processing large, multi-page documents and long-running jobs.
● Develop extraction, transformation, aggregation, OCR, and structured-data processing capabilities.
● Integrate LLM-powered summarization, document analysis, agentic workflows, and structured AI outputs into backend systems.
● Design reliable background-job and worker processes with clear job status, retries, failure recovery, and processing guarantees.
● Build and maintain clean service interfaces, including REST APIs, asynchronous job submission, status endpoints, result retrieval, and error contracts.
● Design data models and maintain relationships between source documents, pages, extracted data, and downstream artifacts.
● Ensure systems handle partial failures, duplicate work, and incomplete processing without silently representing incomplete results as complete.
● Participate in debugging, performance optimization, architecture reviews, code reviews, testing, and production troubleshooting.
● Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly while maintaining ownership of the architecture, code, tests, and documentation you submit.
